The choice to share the Felician journey begins an extensive process during which the discernment of God's will continues in a more formal manner. The timeframe is somewhat flexible, but the completion of each of the following steps shows the depth of the candidate's commitment.

Pre-entrance: From six months to two years
A Catholic woman, aged 18 or older, who feels a call to the Felician Franciscan way of life, contacts the Director of Vocation Ministry who helps her in the discernment process.

Postulancy: From six months to two years
The Felicians welcome the candidate to live with the community and follow a specific program of spiritual formation.

Novitiate: Two years
The first year focuses on prayer and the vowed life, the second centers on spirituality and ministerial experience.

Temporary Vows
Vowing poverty, chastity, and obedience, she enters into the life of the Felician Sisters, usually beginning her ministry full-time.

Final Profession
After a period of three to six years, the Sister consecrates her life by professing final vows, receiving a ring as a symbol of that permanent commitment.
