The Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation Committee (JPIC) of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Province is interested in raising awareness of issues and unjust situations in the world. To that end the members are supporting the Pittsburgh DARFUR Emergency Coalition. The Coalition offers ways to help end the genocide in Darfur, Sudan. Since 2003, the government militia in Sudan has been engaging is the expulsion, rape, and murderous violence of the people in Darfur. It is estimated that 80% to 90% of all the African villages in Darfur have been destroyed. See what simple actions you may take to alleviate the situation. |
