Discernment
is the process of discovering God's plan for our lives. It involves
placing God at the center of the decision-making process, and is
characterized by prayer, contemplation, scripture reading, and reception
of the sacraments. Discernment often involves a mentor and spiritual
direction.
First steps for discerning a vocation to the Felician way
of life
1. Pray daily to live God's love
2. Frequent the sacraments
3. Read Scripture reflectively
4. Serve others with a joyful heart
5. Become active in your parish
6. Learn about Saint Francis of Assisi
7. Meet often with a spiritual director
8. Visit the Felician Franciscan Sisters
9. Talk with the Vocation Director
10. Pray daily to live God's will
We invite you to walk with us in discernment as God calls you to
use your gifts and talents for the good of others and to recognize
your vocation.
A vocation is a gift from God. It is a deep call
from the heart. Be attentive to that call. Contact vocations@felicianspa.org
We are all called by Baptism to be holy. Blessed Mary Angela lived
God's love and God's will as her way to holiness. She combined contemplative
prayer life with direct service to others. Felician Franciscan discernment
emphasizes the Goodness of God in all people and in all of creation.
Bringing prayer
and action into your life can help you in the discernment process.
